Just along from the Library on 42nd street is Bryant Park. When we visited in February there was a cool was a cool ice staking rink. It cost us $45 for three of us (including boot hire) to skate while the girls got coffee on watched.

Minor confusion at the boot desk as we tried to work out what American sizes we were. Seemed to work out one size higher than a UK size (UK 10 = US 11). The rink is a good size but is also pretty packed. However we spent almost an hour skating around before heading off to the Empire State Building down 5th Avenue.
