My family travelled to New York City and then across state to Niagara Falls - this is what we did and what we enjoyed (and didn't!).

Horse Drawn Carriages in Central Park Obviously we couldn't go to New York and not visit Central Park. Kate was convinced that there a cafe names after the famous 'Friends' hang out - Central Perk had been opened but after a fruitless search on the Internet we were forced to conclude that it had only briefly existed as a publicity stunt for an anniversary of the show! We walked from our hotel on 48th up to the western side of the park where the pedicabs are parked waiting to take you for a spin.

Ignoring these we ambled through the park, climbing on the rocks, passing the many ponds and gradually making our way North and East. It was a relaxing way to fill a couple of hours. Had it been summer I would have loved to hire a few bikes and ride the many paths but eventually we walked back to the south eastern corner to where the horse drawn carriages were parked. We paid $50 for the whole carriage carrying 5 of us. The ride was about 20 mins and was warm under the blanket our driver provided. A great way to round off our trip to Central Park.
